As a resident at La Maison, you become an integral, permanent member of our team, working exclusively within our creative space. Residency offers a wealth of benefits, from access to premium resources and creative opportunities, to studio trips, conventions and other events that further enrich your artistic journey.
To ensure a smooth integration we typically invite potential residents to guest with us for a few months. This provides an opportunity for you to experience the studio firsthand, engage with our team, and ensure that both the space and our culture align with your goals and artistic vision. We believe that a successful residency is built on mutual respect and collaboration, and this guest period helps foster that connection.

Guest Artists have the opportunity to work with us on a temporary basis, whether for a single day, a few months, or even longer. During their stay, guest artists enjoy many of the studio’s perks while maintaining the flexibility that suits their lifestyle and travel plans.
This arrangement is great for travelling artists who are able to work and are looking to immerse themselves in Vancouver’s vibrant creative scene. It’s a chance to connect with the local community, exchange ideas with our talented team and expand your network of fellow artists.

Drop-in guest artists are a regular guest artist, although typically local to the city and it’s surrounding areas, or those who frequently visit Vancouver and like to be able to ‘drop-in’ from time-to-time.
They enjoy the freedom of managing their own station reservations through our app, giving them complete flexibility to book a spot whenever it’s convenient - whether it’s a last-minute booking on the same-day or planned ahead - with our system, artists can reserve a station at any time.
This setup is perfect for artists who enjoy working at multiple studios and want to expand their network in the city. It offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with new artists, learn from others, and collaborate in a creative, supportive environment. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or emerging talent, the ability to pop in and out of the studio on your own terms adds another layer of convenience and community.

Things to know:
Our 2400-square foot studio is designed to inspire. Located on the third floor of the Millennium Building with direct elevator access, La Maison is a fully licensed and health-board approved studio offering an environment that promotes both professional growth and artistic freedom.
La Maison features a private outdoor patio, a fully-equipped photography area, a kitchenette with plenty coffee/tea and goodies, and a central communal artist table for collaboration and chats over lunch. You’ll also find a cozy lounge area stocked with the latest tattoo magazines, a separate comfortable lounge/waiting area for your clients, a reception desk to greet them and a luxury in-suite washroom. To keep your space organized and secure, each artist is also provided with their own personal locker for supplies and equipment.
What also sets us apart from other studios is our in-house videographer. Working 5 days a week, they help to create professional reels and photos for your social media. They also collaborate with our artists on personal projects and are available for day-to-day support, ensuring you always have high-quality content at your fingertips.
As an artist-owned and ran studio, we understand offering flexibility and independence to artists is important. You’ll have full control over your schedule, bookings and payments, while being able to manage your station reservations through our La Maison App. Whether you’re a resident or a guest artist, you can decide when and how you want to work.
While you bring your machine and preferred needles, we provide everything else—including ink for guest artists. We ensure a wide-range of high-quality supplies are stocked for your convenience, and if there’s anything specific you need, just let us know.
Our team isn’t just made up of talented artists, we’re also home to a few unique members from the animal kingdom. Sharing our space, we’re home to a leachianus gecko (Paco), an IMG boa (Kasia) and a pair of Amazonian milk frogs - (yet to be named). These extraordinary creatures add a special charm to our studio and are a real fascination for our clients—and of course, are now an integral part of our family.
We believe in transparent, fair pricing for all our artists. You’ll receive a weekly invoice for your days worked, with a flat daily rate available for both guest and resident artists. For those who prefer consistency, we also offer flat monthly rates. We don’t take a cut of your earnings, but instead, charge what’s fair for the artist and studio, covering our costs while ensuring we can continue to support and invest in your growth.
